Income+ Monthly Newsletter|Market overview of January 2026 and how the bond market is performing?

Markets began 2026 on an uneven but constructive note. January was marked by heightened geopolitical tensions and market volatility, but investor risk appetite ultimately strengthened. Global equities advanced around +3% for the month, supported by better-than-expected growth data and moderating inflation, while global bonds delivered marginal gains as worries about government debt weighed. Stronger activity data and lingering fiscal concerns weighed on government bonds, particularly in the US and Japan, where yields rose across the curve.

Income+ Performance

Income+ delivered another month of strong, consistent and stable gains. Income+ Enhance returned +1.95% thanks to its equities exposure, while Income+ Pure delivered +0.99% which has 100% fixed income allocation.

Global bond markets rallied in January 2026. 3 key factors driving the rally were –
1) Spread tightening, 2) income generation, and 3) hedging and diversification.

In a rate cut cycle like now, investor demand for viable income strategies continues to grow. Syfe Income+ remains a popular choice among those seeking steady monthly payouts, delivering a consistent 6 – 8.6% p.a. payout, with 100% achievement rate since inception. As yields on cash and short-term deposits keep declining, more investors are turning to Income+ as an alternative to traditional cash options while managing the risks, with the objective to maximise the yields.
