FAQs
Yield+ is a low-risk managed portfolio invested in short-duration bond funds denominated in HKD. It is built for investors aiming to earn more yields than typical HKD cash or cash-equivalent, with a recommended time horizon of at least 1 year. Your money can move up or down slightly in value, both when you invest and while you stay invested.
Cash+ Flexi targets stable daily returns via money market funds, with no lock-in period. Cash+ Fixed offers a fixed rate through fixed-term bank deposits, with a lock-in period.
Yield+ invests in short-duration bond funds with the aim to earn more yields than Flexi, without lock-up, with a recommended time horizon of at least 1 year. As it targets a higher yield, your money can move up or down slightly in value, both when you invest and while you stay invested.
The portfolio invests in three funds: Amundi Funds US Short Term Bond A2 (30%), Taikang Kaitai Overseas Short Tenor Bond I Class (40%), and abrdn Short Dated Enhanced Income Fund X (30%). Together the investment grade portfolio maintains an ultra short to short duration.
Yield+ is a low-risk portfolio (Risk Level 1), but its value can still go up or down. The main risks are:
- Interest rate risk: When interest rates rise, the portfolio’s value may fall.
- Credit risk: The portfolio invests in bonds issued by governments and companies, which may be unable to make their payments.
- Risk of loss on withdrawal: Rising interest rates push down the prices of the bonds the portfolio holds, which lowers its value. If you withdraw while prices are down, you could get back less than you invested.
To reduce these risks, Yield+ invests in short-duration bond funds, which are less affected by interest rate changes.
No, Yield+ is not capital guaranteed. It is an investment portfolio, not a bank deposit, so its value can go up or down. The portfolio holds short-duration bond funds, and their value can change when interest rates move. With an overall duration of about one year, the portfolio is less sensitive to interest rate changes, but it is still affected by them.
