FAQs

Options are financial contracts that give the buyer (you) the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell a stock at a specified price within a set timeframe.

How does Option trading work?

In Options trading, you can take a position based on whether you expect a stock to rise (Call Options) or fall (Put Options), using specialised order types offered on our platform.

Who is eligible to trade Options on your platform?

As a Syfe Brokerage client, you are eligible to trade Options on our platform as long as you meet the qualification criteria and complete the necessary approval process for Options trading. Requirements generally include financial information and trading experience.

Our platform supports limit and market order types for Options trading. A market order executes immediately at the best available price, while a limit order is filled only at your specified price or better. Limit orders can be placed during or outside market hours while market orders are available during market hours only.

Our platform currently supports the following Options strategies: Long Call, Long Put, Covered Call, and Cash-secured Put. Options trading is available for US-listed stocks and ETFs.

We are currently offering free Options trading and exercising until 20th February 2026. Exchange and regulatory fees still apply.

*Free Options trading applies to the first 5,000 contracts per user. Standard fees apply thereafter. We reserve the right to modify or end this promotion at any time.

Partial Exercise

No, you cannot partially exercise the contracts; you will have to partially close these contracts and then exercise the rest. We are actively working on providing partial exercise as well.

Early Exercise

Yes, you can early exercise your long position, like buy call and buy put if you have enough cash/shares available in the Brokerage account and the contact is in-the-money (ITM). For Short positions there is a probability of early assignment if the long holder decides to exercise them before the expiry date.
